For example, many items on our site show 24-hour availability. If you
select Standard Shipping, your shipping time will be 3 to 7 business
days, depending on where you live. This means your total delivery
time will be 1 day (availability) + 3 to 7 days (shipping time). So you

Standard shipping for APO/FPO addresses, P.O. Boxes, and
U.S. protectorate addresses is via the U.S. postal system.
An additional fee of $10 will be charged for 2nd Day Air shipments
made to AK, HI, and PR. A $15 charge will be assessed for Next Day Air
shipments to the same destinations.
Some Notes About Shipping Toys and
Electronics
Due to warranty issues and manufacturer restrictions, electronics may
only be shipped to destinations within the U.S. Toys may only be
shipped to destinations within the U.S. and U.S. protectorates.
Please also note that, due to size and weight constraints, toys and
electronics may ship separately from the remainder of your order. You
will not be charged more than the amount you have previously
authorized at the time you place your order.
Toys and electronics that are extremely oversized or weigh over 150
pounds require an adult signature upon delivery. We are unable to ship
these items to U.S. protectorate, APO or FPO addresses at this
time. Total shipping charge for such items is indicated on each item's
detail page. This service includes delivery within 7 days of
shipment. Once your order leaves our distribution center, you will be
contacted by the shipper to arrange a specific time for delivery.
If you need to return any electronics item within 30 days of
receipt, Amazon.com will assist with return shipping at no expense to

depending on where you live. This means your total delivery time will
be 1 day (availability) + 7 to 21 business days (shipping time). So you
can expect to receive this items at your front door 8 to 22 business

after you place your order.

A note about standard shipping: Packages sent via standard
shipping go by surface mail. Shipping time varies widely depending on
the destination. In our experience, standard shipments take about 2
to 3 weeks to Canada, 6 weeks to the United Kingdom, 6 to 8 weeks to
Japan and Australia, and 10 to 12 weeks to Brazil, to name a few.
If you intend to have your order shipped within Europe, you might
consider searching our sister sites in the U.K. and Germany: amazon.co.uk and amazon.de.
If
either of those catalogs include the titles that interest you, it is
possible you will receive your order in a faster, less costly manner.
Please note, however, that orders made on the Amazon.de and

International Shipping for 1-Click Orders
Standard Shipping is not available for orders containing items other
than books; the least expensive international shipping method for such
items is World Mail. If you select Standard Shipping for your 1-Click
orders, these items will be sent via World Mail and your books will be
sent via the Standard Shipping method; this is less expensive for you
than sending your entire order via World Mail.
If you select World Mail or International Priority, we will ship
all titles in your order via the shipping method you specify (see prices above).
Important Shipping Facts
A Next Day Air Cautionary Note
Upgrading to Next Day Air does not mean you will get your order the
next day.
Once shipped, Next Day Air packages are guaranteed to arrive at the
end of the next business day. Please note, however, that upgrading
method of shipment to Next Day or 2nd Day Air does not change how long
it takes us to assemble and ship your order--it only reduces the
travel time after your order leaves our warehouse. For example, an
item marked as "Usually ships within 2 to 3 days" and upgraded to Next
Day Air will usually leave our warehouse on the 2nd or 3rd business
day and reach you on the 3rd or 4th business day.
Ordering Items with Different Availabilities
- "Please wait until my entire order is ready before shipping."
Choosing this option on the order form means that we will wait until
we have all the items in your order before shipping any of them. For
example, if you order one item marked "Usually ships within 2 to 3
days" and another marked "Special Order: usually ships within 4 to 6
weeks," we will ship both to you when the special-order item becomes
available.
Please note: Though we will wait until all items are available before
shipping, we may occasionally send the items in separate boxes; this
will not affect your total shipping charge.
- "Please ship the items I ordered as they become available."
Choosing this option on the order form means that each item you order
will be shipped as it becomes available. Your shipping charges will
increase, but you will not have to wait for items with longer
availability to arrive before receiving your other items. If possible,
we will ship items with similar availability together. However, we
cannot guarantee that we will do so.
- Out-of-Print Titles
Any out-of-print books in your order will automatically be shipped
separately, even if you choose "Make one shipment when complete order
is ready."
- 1-Click Orders
Unless you change your 1-Click settings mid-session, all 1-Click
orders you place within a 90-minute period will be combined as
follows:
Domestic and U.S. Protectorate 1-Click Orders:
- Items that ship in 24 hours or 2-3 days will be shipped together.
- Items with availability of longer than 2-3 days will be shipped together.
International 1-Click Orders for Books Only, Designated to Ship via the Standard Shipping method
- Items that ship in 24 hours or 2-3 days will be shipped together.
- Items with availability of longer than 2-3 days will be shipped together.
International 1-Click Orders for Items Other Than Books,
Designated to Ship via the Standard Shipping method
If
you select Standard Shipping for a 1-Click order that includes several
types of media, all items other than books will be sent via World Mail.
The books in your order will be sent via the Standard Shipping
method. This is less expensive than sending your entire order via
World Mail. Such orders will be combined as follows:
- Books with 24 hour or 2-3 day availability will be shipped
together via the Standard Shipping method.
- Books with availability categories of longer than 2-3 days will be
shipped together via the Standard Shipping method.
- All items other than books with 24 hour or 2-3 day availability
will be shipped together by World Mail.
- All items other than books with availability of longer than 2-3
days will be shipped together via World Mail.
Shipping Toys and Electronics Outside the U.S.
Due to warranty issues and manufacturer restrictions, electronics
may only be shipped to destinations within the U.S. Toys may only be
shipped to destinations within the U.S. and U.S. Protectorates.
Customs Information
You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied
once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for
customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these
charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary
widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs
office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from
Amazon.com, you are considered the importer of record and must comply
with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are
receiving the goods.
Customs forms for all international packages list the value of your
order's contents by product type. For instance, orders containing CDs,
videos, and books will be listed in a way similar to the following
example:
Books value: $29.55
CDs value: $ 9.95
Video value: $39.95
If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the
items is still stated on the customs form. Currently, we are not able to
describe the contents in any other way.
