I just recently purchased (Nov 11) an Australian power adapter for my Kindle Touch. I wanted this so that I have the ease of charging my Kindle via electricity as it is not always possible to be near a computer at all times. I think this is an essential purchase when buying any Kindle.

Small, compact and does the job. Unlike other chargers it does not take up more room than its share allowing adjoining power points to be freely used.

For Australian Kindle users this adaptor is a most reccommended item to purchase as an extra at the time of purchasing the Kindle itself. With it & the USB cable that comes with the device, it is possible to recharge anywhere in Australia, with or without a computer.

This item is so simple, quick and easy to use. Fast recharge and compact design. I no longer have to fire up the computer to recharge. Well done, Amazon Kindle.

The AU Power Adapter for Kindle is apparently not available to New Zealand customers.

Jaycar in Australia and New Zealand have an identical USB Power Adapter available which works fine on my Kindle. It is on page 329 in their current catalogue (online: jaycar.com) as cat. number MP-3455. Specifications appear identical, including the convenient round shape, except that it is black in color. Price is $14.95 Aussie dollars.

I hope this helps our New Zealand neighbours. I have no connection to Jaycar, but I love shopping there, like I love shopping at Amazon.

Handy to have if the person using the Kindle doesn't have a computer. Mum was excited because she no longer had to wait to recharge in order to keep on reading. Mum believes that the Kindle was the best ever present and the recharger was the cherry ontop on the cake.

I recently purchased a Kindle and have bought a few books. I am really enjoying this new way of reading! I mainly need the Kindle for travelling as I hate having to leave books when I have read them. My Kindle allows me to read as many books as I like and not have to carry around those heavy books!

This Kindle Power Adapter has proved to be most suitable for Australian use. It is robust yet compact enough to carry easily when travelling.
